Indians Take Game One, Become Favorites to Represent American League

This post is one in a series about the 2016 MLB Playoffs and World Series.

With a shutout victory over the visiting Toronto Blue Jays, the Cleveland Indians took a 1-0 ALCS lead, improving their ALCS chances to 63% and their World Series expectancy to 27%.

With the loss, Toronto's World Series chances took a tumble to 17%, lowest since the beginning of the ALDS. The prospects of the two National League squads, off yesterday, changed by less than 1%.

The most likely scenario is now an Indians win at home in six, whereas the Jays' best bet is to force a seventh game in Cleveland. The Tribe enjoy 9:1 odds of sweeping the Championship Series.

Tonight, the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers face off on the North Side of the Second City with the home town team heavy favorites to represent the National League in the World Series for the first time since 1945. See how the results of today's games affect each team's chances to win it all following the first full day of LCS play.
